Meet Patricia

Patricia EvansPatricia Evans is a facilitator and consultant with more than 30 years experience in health care, communications and the social profit sector. Prior to launching her practice as a consultant, Pat was Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President at the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) in Vancouver. As a founding staff member of MSFHR in 2001, she played a key role in the planning and execution of a wide range of consultative and organizational development initiatives.

She joined the Foundation after working for more than 10 years at Children’s & Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia in roles including Project Director and Director of Public Affairs & Communications. Patricia is the author of numerous newspaper and magazine articles, and the chapter “Developing a Proactive Government Relations Program” in Don’t Shoot the Messenger: A Guide for Effective Health Care Communications, CHA Press 2001. She has also been an instructor for continuing education programs at University of Victoria and Simon Fraser University.

She holds an MCE (Master of Continuing Education, Workplace Learning) from the University of Calgary; and a BA (Applied Sciences) and a Certificate in Liberal Arts from Simon Fraser University. Patricia is an alumna of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Governance Essentials Program for Directors of Not for Profit Organizations. She is also a graduate of the Foundation Program in Management for Women (Simon Fraser University), and a past participant in the Governor General’s Canadian Study Conference and Leadership Vancouver programs.

Pat is currently a member of the Board of Governors of the Leon & Thea Koerner Foundation. Previously she has volunteered on the boards of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Information Services Vancouver and the BC Health Education Foundation. Pat’s professional affiliations include membership in the Canadian Evaluation Society and the American Evaluation Association.
